Treat the portal as the reporting step
SPRS is the government system used for the CMMC assessment record and affirmation. Entering data is a reporting activity after the organization has done the relevant work. This website's planner has no connection to SPRS and cannot create, edit, or affirm an official record.
Begin at the official SPRS CMMC reference page. It provides training for the Level 1 entry workflow and for the Affirming Official. Portal screens and access procedures can change; use the current official materials instead of relying on an old screenshot or a vendor's copied button-by-button instructions.
Confirm access before the deadline
The SPRS access and FAQ pages explain access arrangements and roles. Verify the organization's identifiers and the relevant CAGE code associations, then confirm that the people performing the entry and affirmation have the appropriate current access. Ask your organization's administrator and the official support channel to resolve mismatches.
Keep account credentials out of planning worksheets. Do not share a login to work around a role issue. A consultant can help an authorized user understand the preparation steps, but that should not obscure who performed an action or who is authorized to make the affirmation.
Prepare the inputs from the completed assessment
32 CFR 170.15 identifies Level 1 record information including the level, status date, assessment scope, associated industry CAGE codes, and compliance result. Prepare these details from the actual assessment. Cross-check the scope wording with the environment that was reviewed and make sure the identifiers belong to the intended organization.
If there is an unresolved requirement, pause the assertion that all requirements are met and resolve the issue through the proper internal process. Level 1 does not offer a conditional POA&M route. A plan to configure something next month should not be transformed into a present-tense assessment conclusion.
Verify the assessment and affirmation separately
Use the current Level 1 entry guidance for the assessment record and the official training for the affirmation. The senior official should review the required statement and its basis before submitting. Do not interpret a saved draft, a prepared worksheet, or a completed consultant engagement as a government submission.
After the authorized actions, reopen the official record and verify the displayed organization, scope, status, dates, and affirmation state. Record only the necessary confirmation internally. If a customer asks for proof, use the authorized sharing process and avoid disclosing unnecessary assessment or system details. This workflow article is educational preparation, not a submission service.
